The #101 Family

Sport101 was founded by Mike Irving who has worked at all levels of the game and wants to share the his values and passion with as many people as possible. Mike has been a head coach at national league level in both England in Belgium as well as having previous involvement coaching at junior international level. He is also an FIH coach educator and delivers coach education across the globe and brings this experience to 101. Over the years we have had the opportunity to work with some amazing coaches and international athletes and we are excited to bring these incredible members of the #101Family to you.

Mike Irving

Mike founded Sport 101 with one intention in mind - to help athletes and coaches to reach their full potential!

Over a number of years he has used his knowledge and experience of hockey to bring only the best to Sport 101. Since 2015, Mike has worked tirelessly and rellentlessly to keep developing 101 for the athletes and coaches. He continues to push the boundaries of what 101 can offer way making big ideas a reality to offer the best experience he can!

Mila Welch

England U21 GK, Sport 101 and Fortitude GK Coach

Mila has worked with the 101 family for a number of years now. Over the years a large number of our Goal Keeper cohort have had the pleasure of being coached by Mila and having her share her experiences and knowledge has been awesome for us!

She continues to push herself by play at the highest level possible. Currently applying her skills for East Grinstead HC but will shortly be heading off to the U21 Junior Women's World Cup having been selected to represent England!

Tess Howard

Sport 101 Coach and GB & ENG #14

Tess has been a superstar for Sport101 in sharing her knowledge and insight about the game on the 101Show. Having coaches at our ADP centres across the country, she has given our athletes an idea of what hockey is like right at the top level nationally and internationally.

Tess plays for passion and finds it incredibly fortunate that it is her profession. The fine details and the simplicity that stimulates creativity is what Tess loves about the game. She is always looking to improve, make those marginal gains and learn wherever she can

She made her senior GB Debut in 2018 after being named England Hockey’s Junior Player of the Year. Since then Tess has made 37 caps, scored 7 goals.
Unfortunately she ruptured ACL in April 2021 before Tokyo, will be back for Summer 2022 to go for medals at the Commonwealth Games & World Cup.

Holly Hunt

101 Coach

Holly has been with us at Sport101 for a number of years and we can not be more appreciative of what she has done for us. The way in which she engages and inspires players in unbelievable. She really embodies what it is to be part of the #101 family.

Holly has recently been selected to become part of the England and GB Hockey senior programme and we can not be more proud of her. Congratulations Holly and we cannot wait to see you back with us at 101 👏👏👏
