Chelmsford Hockey Club are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified coach to lead and develop their Ladies 2nd XI. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious hockey coach with a passion for the game and a proven track record of delivering high quality hockey coaching. Our Ladies 2nd XI currently play in East Division 1 South (NB this is subject to the new EH structure). Working closely with our first XI squad and coach, the successful candidate will be expected to develop both individual players and the Ladies 2nd XI team to the next level. This will include players identified through our successful accelerated development program. Duties include but are not limited to: • plan and deliver training sessions for our Ladies 2nd XI (currently one evening per week) • attendance at all Ladies 2nd XI fixtures • deliver effective team tactics on match days with adaptability • assist in the identification of leading players across Chelmsford HC, working with other coaches and captains to manage their development towards the Ladies 1st XI • Monitor performance and provide feedback to players. Required Qualifications • Safeguarding & Protecting Children course • Enhanced DBS check • A minimum of a Level 2 Hockey Coaching Qualification or it’s equivalent • First Aid Certificate • You must be eligible to work in the UK This is a paid position with remuneration to be confirmed based upon qualifications, experience and the final role agreed upon. The successful candidate will be hired on a fixed term (self-employed) consultancy basis at rates negotiated based on experience, qualification and level of commitment. They will not be employed by the club and should make their own arrangements for tax and National Insurance.

    Chelmsford Hockey Club’s Ladies’ 1st XI are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and qualified coach to lead and inspire them through the upcoming National League season. After being promoted back into the East Conference in 2018/2019 they enjoyed a season back at the faster pace and are now looking for a coach to encourage, support and develop a talented group of players as they navigate through this upcoming season. Successful applicants will need to have a competitive nature, excellent communication skills, good tactical knowledge as well as innovative training ideas to help develop the squad. Having a universal approach to coaching is also vital to ensure the whole of CHC ladies’ section operates as an organised unit with seamless pathways between the top teams. In return, CHC is open to listening to recommendations and requests to ensure you are equipped to deliver on the Clubs objectives. The role commences in July to set-out a pre-season programme of training and friendlies prior to the start of the league. Pre-season, weekly training sessions and all home matches will take place at Chelmer Park, Chelmsford. Ideally, this would be a long-term appointment with a yearly review at the end of every season with accountabilities agreed prior to the commencement of the season. The appointed person will be expected to fulfil all the duties of a head coach for CHC Ladies’ 1st XI. This includes but is not limited to: • Plan and deliver training sessions suitable for a team playing in the National League • Attend all match days at weekends (including a warm up and post-match debrief) • Take part in weekly club and team selection • Deliver effective team tactics on match days with adaptability • Work with Ladies’ 2nd XI Captain / Coach on development, selection, training sessions and team tactics, ensuring that open communication is upheld throughout the entire season • Help identify leading young players across CHC, working with other coaches and captains to manage their development towards the Ladies’ performance team • Monitor performance and provide feedback to players • Provide the delivery of pre-season for Ladies’ 1st XI and on-going squad fitness We will also consider the possibility of a Player/Coach for the right candidate. You will need a minimum UK Level 2 coaching Qualification, or at least working towards this qualification, or equivalent. You must be eligible to work in the UK and hold a valid UK/EU passport or valid work permit and speak a good standard of English. The Ladies 1st XI currently play in the Eastern Conference of the Investec Hockey Women’s League. The team has a strong tradition of high-level success having played in the National League for a number of years. The team are also competing in the East Indoor League and looking to bounce back into National League this season. The squad is a mixture of youth and experience and includes junior internationals. Our season runs from September to April, with pre-season normally starting in July. The role involves: o Pre-Season (starting in July) o 2 Training sessions per week. o All match days at weekends (mainly Saturdays but some Sunday games) o Indoor season (December to February) CHC is a family friendly club, and with 8 ladies’ teams and 7 men’s teams, making us one of the largest hockey clubs situated in the country. Chelmsford Hockey Club has fantastic direct links into central London which is only a 40 min train ride.
