Waverley Hockey Club is seeking an experienced Men’s Premier League Coach and Assistant Coach for season 2019. Waverley has a strong culture of success within Hockey Victoria, and has developed many state and national representatives. The club has excellent facilities, inclusive community spirit, strong coaching infrastructure, and 600 members across women’s, men’s, junior and master’s teams. The Men’s Premier League squad is a young, exciting group of players with the capacity to challenge for success in the near future under skilled direction. An understanding of young athletes, contemporary methods, structures and effective communication is paramount. Having played finals in 2017 and 2018, the MPL team is ready to take the next step with the appropriate coach and assistant. Applicants should have playing / coaching experience at equivalent or higher level, be passionate, motivated, adaptive and have the capacity to identify and blend new elements to the existing platform. Level 2 coaching accreditation or higher is preferred. Preseason Dec – April: 2 nights per week plus 1 weekend session Season April – Sept: 2 nights per week plus weekend match, additional sessions, video review, etc. Involvement in junior development and the PL Reserves team is required, with the ability to outline the direction of the men's unit.
