The german side faced Atletic Terrassa on the first day of the tournament. They started off strong being very disciplined in their play, something that the Germans teams are known for. However, things didn’t quite go as planned as they conceded a last minute short corner, which they asked for video referral but saw the umpire’s decision unchanged and then went on to concede from it to lose the game.
With a point to prove in their next game, they faced a very tough opposition in Royal Leopold and were off to a great start grabbing 2 goals. However, things hit the fan as they conceded four goals to no response, which saw them lose the game 4-2 and finish the tournament in fourth place with no medal to show for it.
