Hertogenbosch were no strangers to their first opposition in the tournament as they faced dutch rivals AH&BC Amsterdam. With high expectations from both teams, Hertogenbosch started off strong winning a penalty stroke in the 1st quarter, however they failed to take advantage of this opportunity and were punished as Amsterdam took the lead shortly after. Two minutes from time, Hertogenbosch managed to grab an equaliser through a Frederique Matla deflection, sending the game into shootouts. Josine Koning set the standards high for the shootout as she saved a penalty stroke on the first attempt and went on to save the final shootout to secure her teams place in the final.
On the final day of the tournament, they played Club de Campo to compete for the first ever Women's EHL. They started off strong, however failed to break the deadlock until Lidewij Welten picked up the ball outside the 25 and buried it into the bottom corner giving her team the lead. After the first goal the doors opened and goals by Frederique Matla and Maartje Krekelaar followed shortly after seeing them go 4-0 up by the 3rd quarter. Malta sealed off the perfect team performance by grabbing a 5th team goal and her 3rd to complete her hat-trick to see Hertogenbosch crowned European Champions.
Laura Nunnink was awarded Scorrd MVP for the Women's 2021 EHL after two sublime performances in the middle of the field.
