Atletic Terrassa started their journey in the final four as underdogs as they faced german champion HTC Uhlenhorst in the semifinals. A game that will go down in hockey history. The game was off to a slow start but made up for it in the final quarter. With two minutes to go everyone thought it was going to be another 1-1 draw with the winner decided in a shootout. Up steps Pau Cunill, a true Cinderella story, a second team player last October to a first team hero in April. He slotted the ball home from the top of the D to give Terrassa what seemed like the win, however Uhlenhorst weren’t done as they grabbed another equalising goal with one minute left on the clock. The final play of the game saw Terrassa win yet another short corner which gave Pau Cunill one final chance to send his team into a European final. He was given one chance, and take it he did, as he flicked the ball low into the keepers left sealing his teams spot in Monday's final.
Terrassa knew how difficult it would be going up against a team like Bloemendaal, and put up a solid performance, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to keep the dutch at bay. Terrassa finished the game 5-2 with goals from Pau Cunill and Jordi Bonastre.
It was a successful tournament for the Spanish champions as they won a silver medal with a full spanish side with players coming up from their own youth system, which showcased the importance that clubs need to give to their youths as they are the future.
