Ben Hegan named in England U16 Boys Squad

Peter Beard, the Havant Coaching Director says:

“Ben Hegan has long been a player to watch. His ability to eliminate a player in a one versus one is impressive however, for me, his consistent, excellent core skills set him apart.

Ben joined as an U14 and, like lots of our juniors, has had plenty of exposure to adult hockey and enjoyed many positive reviews in the Men's 6s, 4s and 3s. This season he has also played a Cup match for the Men's 1s and got on the scoresheet twice to ensure the team advanced to the next round.

As a current U16 Ben plays in midfield for his age group and also plays up in the U18s where he has been an integral part of the teams ongoing cup run, predominantly being used in the forward line he scored two in Yeovil last weekend - we are now through to the Tier 2, National Cup quarter finals playing Marlow at Havant & SD College at 11:30 on Sunday February 6th with the Men's 1s playing afterwards for those who would like to come and support Team Havant.

I have been fortunate enough to coach Ben at Havant and at his school (Churcher's College) so I have seen first-hand how hard he works and how much of a team player he is. I had absolute faith that he would reach this level and I know that all the Team Havant coaches that have worked with him are also very excited about what he will achieve next. Remember the name, Ben Hegan. “

Ben is a great addition to the Club with a tremendous attitude, as an example he will be giving back by helping at the Community Programme camps which Havant run so successfully for state school children in the Borough.
